| A Compelling Need |
| The complexities of compliance within the current health care
system are nearly overwhelming. We recognize the compelling need to take
compliance seriously due to government regulations such as HIPAA, Office of the
Inspector General (OIG), and AAPC as well as whistleblowers. However, according
to the OIG, 75% of US hospitals are noncompliant in some manner. Having a good
compliance plan is your facility's insurance against this factor. |
| |
| According to the OIG, "When a compliance program is
established in a hospital ... [they] should take a 'snapshot' of their
operations from a compliance perspective. This assessment can be undertaken by
outside consultants … [with] knowledge of health care compliance requirements." |
| |
| The government encourages and supports you in your decision
to seek outside assistance with compliance, something to which CSA is
committed. |
| |
| CSA seeks every opportunity to assist you with your
compliance efforts and to identify whether adequate systems are in place to
facilitate and promote ethical and legal conduct regarding business-outsourcing
ventures. |
